The World Ends with WEWY

June 19th, 2008

Yep, it’s that time! I have found a new video game and it must be reviewed! The victim this time? Squenix/Jupiter’s (The makers of of the Kingdom Hearts series) newest game, The World Ends with You.

Oh. My. Gosh.

I don’t know what was going through the makers’ heads when they made this game, but I really want to meet all of them. And give them a hug. They are geniuses! This game was pulled off fantastically. Normally, that’s an easy thing to do, to make a game I find fantastic, but this does absolutely everything wrong and does it well. There was so much that could have flopped in this game–the characters (Welll…I can’t say I like all of them, but they are good…Beat dropped my IQ by at least thirty points), the background, the story, especially the battle system–but all those little quirks that would break a normal game meshed together in some miraculous way to form what is now one of my all-time favorite games.

I lied!

April 14th, 2008

Right after I posted that last entry, I wrote a piece of Noblesse Oblige that I liked a lot better and still works out of context, although it may contain a couple of spoilers. So I’ll go ahead and delete that part of the last post and add this!

Cooooooooool….

April 13th, 2008

I just discovered something really nifty. I was downloading Windows Live Messenger onto my shiny new laptop when I noticed that it also wanted me to download Live Writer, their blogging software thingy. So guess what I’m writing this post on! It’s probably going to shred what little semblance of layout I have, but we’ll give it a shot.

It’s been a long time since I posted, huh! Most of that is because…Well…I have no decent excuse. I’m just lazy. Oh, an I did get Super Smash Bros.: Brawl and Kid Icarus. That may have contributed.

Anyway, I just got back over the weekend from this SkillsUSA competition in Boise with James. We were supposed to build a website within the space of nine hours (We did it in five and we were dying of apathy towards that stupid daycare website by the end of it) about an after school daycare called Sunny Day. We did it, and I think we did fantastically! We’ll hear about whether we won or not tomorrow.

I am a Genius!

February 26th, 2008

And, surprisingly, this does not refer to my ACT score. That comes later.

The REAL stroke of genius is what I just did!

So here’s the story. I got a Wii for Christmas, along with Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I’m one of those weird people who have to get really into the game. As in, I stood up throughout the entire game (so far), only sitting when either on horseback or when a long story sequence was coming up. I acted it out, too, even when I didn’t have to. (Swinging the wiimote like a sword is required, throwing the wiimote like a 250 lbs. Goron is not.)

Then I decided to add just one more thing into the mix.

A treadmill.

Harvest Moon + Swords?

February 5th, 2008

I think I’ve found one of the greatest games on the Nintendo DS. It’s also something that I never imagined would be so dang good.

This gem’s name is Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon.

Yeah, you heard me right.

This game is like a combination of Legend of Zelda, Harvest Moon, Mana, Pokemon, and Final Fantasy, all rolled into one teeny-tiny little package. I personally can’t believe that so much can be stuffed into one tiny little game card.

It’s Finished!

February 1st, 2008

More or less, anyway. And no, I don’t mean Forsaken Game, although I really wish I could say that. I’m such a slacker. XD

What I did finish was the website! Sure, some of it is sloppy, disorganized, but…it’s done, right! No more broken links! Now I’m gonna start really digging into the wiki, getting all of my character information up.

And I totally got thrown off my Taylor being immature. Narg. There’s one should’ve–been-very-interesting blog post down the drain.

Welcome Home, President Hinckley

January 29th, 2008

It just now sets in that President Gordon B. Hinckley–my prophet–is gone. Well, it really set in during Seminary as we sang “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet.” My class is normally extremely good at singing, but today none of us, no matter how hard we tried, could keep a pitch, as choked up as we were. Instead of normal lessons, we spent almost the entire time talking about President Hinckley. I didn’t know him as well as I should, but I always remember his sense of humor, at least, and how well he could connect with the youth of not only the LDS church, but the entire world. I love seeing pictures of him with the cane his doctor ordered him to use, carrying and waving it around rather than leaning on it.

BPA

January 21st, 2008

So, here I am at BPA…It’s not as exciting, or as organized, as I thought it’d be. Seriously. For a BUSINESS competition, this place is insanely disorganized! And, really, I have almost no reason to be here at the moment since I already did my events, Fundamental Accounting (Ugh…) and Fundamentals of XHTML. I think my biggest problem with it is that I’m in a dress. Mostly, it’s because I was in a dress before the sun even rose. There is something wrong with any day that requires the wearing of a dress. >>’

Anyway, I’ve been sitting here for hours waiting for the award ceremony. During that time, I at least got to work on my forum. I had to completely delete and reinstall it last night due to an SQL error and just barely got the categories and forums in it up. There’s really not much there, but now I can at least open the link to it on the main site.

One Sentence

January 11th, 2008

Once again, I’ve found a new obsession. Okay, not a big one. More of a passing fancy, I guess. One Sentence. It’s a website for true stories told in one sentence. Most are mind-bogglingly depressing, but so well-written you just have to come back to read more.

Alright, there’s my plug for the day.

Still alive!

January 8th, 2008

Yeah, I’m still alive. Sorry! Once again, my life has been eaten by various forms of entertainment. For instance, I got a Wii for Christmas! That should be excuse enough, right?

Alright, so I’ve been sluffing working on my website. Now, however, seems like an awesome time to be working though! I’m currrently sitting in homework club at school–although I don’t need to be, mind you–and I can amazingly enough get to my website from here! Unfortuately, it’s only a matter of time before they attempt to block my website at school for no good reason and any sort of access to it. Hopefully, when and if that happens, I’ll be able to persuade them otherwise.

Anyway, today’s the big year! This year I’m going to try my hardest to edit and finish Forsaken Game. At the moment, I’m working on Chapter Five, Melancholy. For the longest time, I almost completely forgot about what was going on in the chapter and it was very close to sinking into infamy. Now, luckily, we’ve got a pretty decent idea of what it is.
